The Beach Boys play Palma

Greatest hits tour lands in June

Perhaps one of the most successful vocal harmony groups of all time, The Beach Boys, established 1961, are on their way to Palma for a concert on 18th June! Fans of the band will be hastily digging out their candy striped shirts, stone chinos and surfboards as the band who embodied the sunny, surfing, southern Californian lifestyle with their happy songs about, cars, romance, the sun and water sports.

With superb vocal harmonies and happy-go-lucky tunes, the Beach Boys were almost as big as the Beatles back in their mid-60's heyday and regularly topped the charts bringing a taste of sunshine to those of us living in slightly drabber climes than Los Angeles county.

The band has been through many changes over the years caused by illness and death and the present tour line-up reflects that with only Mike Love from the original combo remaining. He's joined on stage by Bruce Johnston, who joined the group in 1965 to fill in for Brian Wilson, the group's founder who no longer wanted to tour; with Jeffrey Foskett, Brian Eichenburger, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill and Scott Totten.

Called The Greatest Hits Tour, the show will feature all the famous hits like Would'nt it be Nice, Surfing U.S.A., God Only Knows, California Dreaming, and Good Vibrations amongst many more. The venue is the Can Fusteret showground, a super open air venue on what should be a warm night and if you want tickets you can buy them online starting tomorrow, 31st January at 11 am local time. The basic standing ticket sells at €35, seats are €55 and then there are two grades of VIP ticket at €80 and €90.

I bet you're humming Beach Boys' songs at this very minute?
