Tom Jones and George Benson
Mallorca's going to be hotter than July in July as two of the biggest names in music breeze into town. Port Adriano, the coolest marina in all the Balearics and the only one designed by Philippe Starck, is guaranteed to be a sell out when it hosts the two stars for concerts in summer.
Sir Tom Jones - he's already announced to his Facebook fans how much he is looking forward to seeing Mallorca – is the first on stage at the chic marina on 20th July at 22:00, just when the heat of the day is subsiding. Fresh from a stint as a judge on The Voice UK, Sir Tom's performance in Mallorca is part of a much larger UK and European tour.
You probably don't need me to tell you that Sir Tom, who hails from Wales, has been one of the biggest stars on the world music scene since he first hit the charts in the 60's and has performed with almost everybody who is anybody and apparently knew Elvis!
On 25th July, again at 22:00, George 'Bad' Benson takes centre stage, one of the few artists to cross over from pure Jazz to commercial success in a big way. Despite his roots playing with the likes of Miles Davis, George first achieved success in the soul/disco scene of the 70's with hits like This Masquerade and Super Ship. Teaming up with Quincy Jones brought more hits like Give me the Night, Turn your Love around, and Lady love me, which I'm sure you're all whistling now.
Like Sir Tom, George is showcasing his superb guitar and vocal skills on a UK and European tour when he calls in on Mallorca. If you'd like to see either of them, or even both, you can buy tickets online by following the links.
