Romeo and Juliet
For one night only the star crossed lovers of Shakespeare tragic tale of Romeo and Juliet comes to Palma. However is not the Bard's well know play that tips up at the Auditorium, but the ballet whose music is written by Prokofiev.
The story of the two young people who fall passionately in love despite the deadly enmity of their families, and whose tragic tale has a terrible outcome is told by the touring Moscow State Ballet.
Joined for this performance by two special guest dancers from the world renowned Bolshoi Ballet, Maria Allash and Andrei Merkuriev, this production captures and transmits all the emotion of the passionate romance faced with the tragic fate.
The dancing ranges from the intensity of the Dance of the Knights to the most romantic of romantic moments like the pas de deux of the balcony scene, even more heightened by the gorgeous costumes worn by the dancers.
