Restaurant Petit Celler Cas Carreter

Traditional cuisine in Soller

If you want to experience some traditional Mallorcan cuisine in an authentic old family run restaurant with a really warm and friendly atmosphere then head over to Soller where you'll find all three in the Restaurant Petit Celler Cas Carreter.

Just off the Gran Via in the town centre, the warm glow from Cas Carreter's rustic porch beckons you in with a promise of hearty treats and typical island food to come. The old building was an agricultural cart building and repair workshop founded in 1914 by Sebastián Oliver, Soller's first carreter (cart builder.)

Still in the same family, the workshop was converted to a restaurant in 1962 by Sebastian's son and is now run by his great grandson, Miguel Morell Oliver who takes pride in the history of his restaurant, combining its old typical Mallorquin recipes with some refined touches from today.

With seating for 80 inside and 20 on the terrace, Cas Carreter still retains its links with the past with a style and décor which certainly reveals its former cart building history. Clients can enjoy typical tapas like tumbet, frito marinero, frito Mallorquin, snails, cuttlefish with sobrasada, trampo, escalivada and potatoes with alioli. On the a la carte menu you'll find hearty dishes with steak, rabbit, pork, lamb, cod, grouper, and seabass all done Mallorcan style.

It's a firm favourite with local people and also with visitors who want to experience the truly original side of Mallorca as a change from resort life..

Give it a try if you're up in the Soller Valley of nearby.
