Es Convent d'Ariany
Last year I wrote an article about this hotel which began;
Looking for a small, well run hotel where you can enjoy peace, tranquillity, total relaxation with really good service and food? Well, the Convent d'Ariany gives you all this and more as it is specifically designed with disabled people in mind and is almost 100% 'disabled friendly.'
It's a beautiful hotel, and as stated, almost 100% disabled friendly with accessibility aids such as;
Visual aids: Braille
Emergency cord in bathroom
Lower bathroom sink
Higher level toilet
Toilet with grab rails
and because of this it has been honoured with a prize from the Balearic section of the famous charity for the blind here in Spain, ONCE.
ONCE is visible everywhere in the country via its little kiosks which sell its famous lottery tickets and the lottery ticket sellers themselves who are usually disabled people too. Every year ONCE gives prizes to individuals, organisations and places who have done most to help disabled people and this year Es Convent was one of the winners.
I'm sure the nuns who converted their convent to this lovely hotel when it was no longer needed for religious purposes, and the staff, many of whom are disabled, are honoured by this award. As I said, it really is a lovely hotel – so peaceful – and ideal for a get away from it all holiday in the beautiful Mallorcan countryside.
Take a look at it in our hotel section where you can book it online.
