Sa Pobla Friday tapas
It's nice to see people in the gastro business making an effort to get people out onto the streets and into their bars and restaurants at what can be a difficult time of year. The flat months of January and February have passed and with march and spring it's time to look forward to summer.
Over in Sa Pobla, the little town famous for its potatoes near to the resorts of Puerto de Pollensa, Puerto de Alcudia and Can Picafort, they've come up with a great scheme to make it really easy for folks to get out and about and sample some of the great food on offer in the town.
Every Friday evening until 31st March we can sample some fine food in the form of economically priced tapas and pinchos, cocktails and music, both live and digital as six bars in the town centre form the regular stops of the Tapa Train.
One of the little tourist type road trains has been pressed into service every Friday from 18:30 until 23:00 to carry passengers on the circular route from bar to bar on a hop on, hop off basis. This truly is letting the train take the strain off your brain as all you have to remember is to be at Sa Pobla's real train station to catch it as it goes dizzily round and round the town.
Sounds like a good idea to me, and one young reviewer left the following comment – really encouraged to board the tapa train on the 6 bar route, each one different, each one unique, and delicious tapas.
