Repsol suns shine on Mallorca

16 restaurants, 24 Sols

aromata team

The new Repsol gastronomy guide, a bit like the Michelin guide for motorists, but which awards distinctions only to Spain and Portugal's best restaurants includes 16 here on Mallorca. The sol (sun) symbol is a sign of culinary excellence and is awarded on behalf of Repsol by 'La Asociación de amigos de la Real Academia de Gastronomía y la Cofradía de la Buena Mesa.'

They select and evaluate the restaurants taking into account the standard of cuisine, the quality of the ingredients and methods, the respect for the cuisine of the region, the wine list and the standard of service. So quite stringent criteria!

Without further ado, here's the list, which someone has helpfully put into alphabetical order, and which as you can see, contains restaurants from the far flung corners of the island, not just the capital Palma. So wherever you are, you'll find excellent dining at one of the restaurants near you on your holiday.
