Food, wine & music
Here's a nice little understated food, wine, and music festival that promises to be a relaxed, friendly affair over in the three-beach resort of Paguera. Called Gastro&Art, it made its debut last year and was such a success that it takes place once more next weekend the 4th and 5th May.
The organisers want us to enjoy the food and wine on offer which is provided by some of Mallorca's finest bodegas and catering businesses. Occupying a dozen stalls in Paguera's Plaza Torà square, you'll find a great variety of food, from gourmet style offerings to cured ham to cakes and pastries to coffee roasters to wine from the island and beyond.
Throughout both days there's a full programme of live music that's designed to be relaxing and thoroughly in keeping with the chink of wine glasses as the sun goes down – I believe the expression is chilled! During both days there'll be exhibitions of art, and if you've got kids, something to keep them occupied while you're admiring some subtle brush strokes over a glass of cold verdejo.
Both days kick off at 13:00 precisely, with the food and fun lasting until midnight on Saturday and 22:00 on Sunday as we're all back at school on Monday.
