Six hours of sunshine music
When the sun's shining, the weather's hot, and you don't have to drag yourself out to work, then you'll want an uplifting, joyous, summer soundtrack to your perfect life! Out goes Bobby Goldsboro's 'Honey,' and Morrisey's 'Lord knows I'm miserable now,' and in comes a festival full of Reggae.
Yep, the world's best sunshine music comes to Palma for a six hour solid session of pure Jamaican soul when Reggae Fest takes over the Son Fusteret pop up concert venue and showground later this month.
Headlining the show are the veteran Kingston combo Inner Circle who formed over 50 years ago in 1968. They've had some changes of personnel since then with a total of 28 band members over the years but a constant has always been the presence of the two brothers that formed the band Ian and Roger Lewis.
They had their biggest international hits during the 80's when they were high in the charts with "Sweat (A La La La La Long)" and "Bad Boys", the theme from the US television show Cops. Here's the vid, watch it at your peril because you'll be singing it all day!
Supporting the 'Bad Boys' are Iseo & Dodosound with Mousehunters who'll be bringing a tropical storm of dub, trip-hop, reggae and even some R&B! Also on the bill is Dancehall act Stranjah Miller with the Wagwaan Band all the way from Jamaica!
If you want to go, it kicks off at 20:00 on Friday 26th July and tickets are only €22 and can be bought online – click the link.
